My wife presented symtoms of a small stroke and could not stand or walk. We called EMTs and they took her to LCCH where she seen by Dr Barstad and initially he said she couldnt go home until she could stand. He gave her meds for a UTI and asked her if she wanted to go home and she said yes, She also stated there were babies in the room (not) and that the nurses were sleeping in the cabinets (i don't really think so but hey).
Dr Barstad Then released her to go home assuring her she would be more comfortable in her own bed. The woman is talking jibberish and cant use her legs! It takes 3 people to load her into our van and they almost drop her. when she gets home she falls to the gravel drive and EMTs are again dispatched to pick her up. WE finally end up transporting her to Wenatchee where she is admitted and as of this date (8/11/2015) is still there. I am not a DR. But it seems like a common sense problem and Dr Barstad should have never discharged her. I dont want someone like this making ER decisions about my life or my families lives.
